The album On The Inside was a labor of love from the beginning. A compilation of songs that were from Tonya's life and experiences, it is easy to find yourself relating to the lyrics. After realizing that God had given her a gift to share, Tonya began singing her songs of testimony in local coffee shops. It was evident that the Lord was touching people through these songs and a CD project was birthed.

As is evident in the title track of the album, there is a rawness and vulnerablity present. It is Tonya's hope that these songs open the door for people to realize that they are not alone, that God is there, and that there is hope. Some have scoffed at Tonya's debut album stating that it is "dark and depressing", but

to reveal the light to those dark places. We all go through times in our lives when we feel alone, or that no one understands. It is Tonya's hope that those who listen to "On The Inside" will know that they are not alone and that someone does understand--God. He knows exactly what we are going through, and how we are going to get through it. It is by His love and grace and mercy that He holds us in His hands, travelling down the road with us, as we take on this thing called life.

As the project began to become a reality Tonya joined up with guitarist Michael Moore. Moore felt compelled to help engineer and play on the album since he also felt the need to bring these songs to the general public. A few other friends jumped on board and the rest is history. The album is a smattering of textures and genres thanks to the talents of Carol Berubee (drums/percussion), Joy Russell (piano), Michael Moore (acoustic and electric guitar and bass), Steve McCoy (bass) and Melissa Taylor (violin).

Songs include:

Who Am I, Hold Me Now, On the Inside, In the Darkest Night, Heart of Paul, To Be Fine, Break Me, I'll Forgive You, Nothing But the Blood, Shelter, Freedom
